Hecate

Hecate, goddess of magic and witchcraft, is the daughter of the Titan Perses and Titanide Asteria (Leto's sister). It is also a goddess of the moon.
It is part of the Triad Lunaire, with Selene and Artemis: Hecate represents the new moon or dark moon, which symbolizes death; Selene full moon, which symbolizes birth; Artemis the crescent moon, which symbolizes maturity in the life cycle.

STORY:
The titanide Asteria was pregnant to Hecate when she was transformed into a floating island. Thus, once eventually Hecate was born on the island of Delos, it was then found by Hades and Leuce (then pregnant with Elysee) that was on the island. Recognizing his ancestry to the blue hair she had inherited from her mother, Hades and Leuce decided to adopt her and raise her as their own daughter. Hecate thus grows in the underworld where for the first time, people were not afraid of her because of her physical appearance.
As an adult, she decided to stay and live in underworld with his "parents".
As a magician by excellence and mistress of witchcraft, she granted protection to all magicians (Medea and Circe). It is also often seen as a goddess of darkness and death. The Leuce's death, she considered her mother, caused great anger in it, and this is that appeared the first black moon. Upon the arrival of Persephone in the underworld, Hecate took a liking to the young goddess and became his friend. It was she who taught the operation of the underworld Persephone.
When holy wars have begun, Hecate retired to a dimension between the sea, the sky and the Earth where she perfected his black magic powers. His magic increased to the point that one day she left her dimension and took part in the holy war and thanks to his magic, Hades defeated Athena, but Chronos, the god of Time then decided to intervene. He sent the Saints in the past and Hecate sealed in its dimension, and the change the history. Chronos freed the young goddess when Athena took the life of Hades in Elysion. Discovering the death of Hades upon waking, she decided to do everything to help Persephone to resurrect hime.
At the signing of the peace treaty, she left its size and turned into hell.

PERSONALITY:
Hecate is a stubborn and temperamental goddess but also kind to those who deserve it, but it can happen also to be very cold and cruel to some people. As Hades to her horror of sunlight. Therefore, it does on Earth that makes the night under the moonlight.
Considering Hades as her father, she desire above all stay at his side and serve him and also considers Elysee as her little sister. It is also very close to Persephone, with whom she is very friendly and spent a lot of time when it is hell. It also love Macaria, Melinoe, Zagreus and Plutus, but unlike Elysee, she does not see them as brothers and sisters.
She is also very friendly with the other two goddesses of the moon, Artemis and Selene.

As a chthonic divinity, Hecate's magic is not compatible with the Olympians and may have serious secondary effects on them but also on all their warriors (except Hades, for him, this is not an Olympian but a divinity chthonic). Hence the fact that they fear her and respect her.
